Some individuals have to reinvent themselves to find the job that is right for them. Here are some tips of the trade I advise my candidates on:
- Understand the company’s vision and make sure you do your research – you do not want to go into an interview blind.
- Once you get the interview, do as much due diligence on the position. Be prepared to tell them why you want the job.
- Know your strengths and be able to elaborate on them – basically, know what you’re good at, be able to articulate that, and show some proof of concepts of your work or be able to give examples of what you have done in past positions.
- Communicate what you’re goals are and what you can offer.
- Be able to connect the dots (i.e. your prior experience) and align them with the position you are interviewing for.
- And most important, have energy, enthusiasm and confidence!
Be ready for your interview. Get set to take on a new and exciting challenge. And jump start into your new career ahead.
